What is cage fish farming?

Fish farming involves raising fish commercially in tanks or enclosures such as fish ponds, usually for food. It is the principal form of aquaculture, while other methods may fall under mariculture. A facility that releases juvenile fish into the wild for recreational fishing or to supplement a species natural numbers is generally referred to as a fish hatchery. Worldwide, the most important fish species used in fish farming are carp, tilapia, salmon, and catfish

The mission of this project is to develop entrepreneurial capacitation of the fisher folk nomadic community, through; action learning and to foster the creation of sustainable enterprises with special emphasis on; "rural fisher folk/fishing communities" in the Ssese Islands.

The goal of this projectis; to set an example that will assist in the tranformation of rurual communities from poor to elavated standards of livingand human welfare through enhancing fish farming and increasing fish stock in the lake.
